CCPIA Certification Requirements

These courses adhere to the International Standards of Practice for Inspecting Commercial Properties (ComSOP). You will learn how to follow the ComSOP to perform commercial property inspections. The time required to fulfill the certification requirements varies for each student. Some may need to complete our additional online courses to prepare for the exam.

Your Education Dashboard offers an easy to follow checklist for certification. The Optional Courses listed on your Education Dashboard are available for additional training and to enhance knowledge in specific areas in preparation for the Online Commercial Property Inspector Exam, if needed. These courses are not required for certification but can be taken at any time to further develop expertise.

Education Dashboard

You must complete the certification requirements with a score of 80% or higher to become certified. After successful completion, you can instantly access the CCPIA-Certified Commercial Property Inspector logo and Certificate of Membership at your Account Dashboard. Use the CCPIA logo and Certificate of Membership in your marketing material, website, inspection proposals, and inspection reports. It assures clients you’re trained and qualified.

As a CCPIA-Certified Commercial Property Inspector, you will also be eligible for a listing in CCPIA’s directory and Verify Tool, which consumers and CRE professionals use, in addition to an ID Card. You must maintain continuous membership in CCPIA. Certification is terminated and expires upon membership cancellation.
