CCPIA® has partnered with ETS Environmental & Associates to offer training and opportunities to conduct the site visit portion of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).

This opportunity is exclusively available to CCPIA® Certified Commercial Property Inspectors in the U.S. who complete the prerequisite training included with membership. By partnering with the environmental firm through this program, you can offer Phase I ESAs to your clients. You will perform the on-site visual inspection and submit the documentation to the firm, which completes the remainder of the report for delivery to your client.

After successfully completing the prerequisite online course, you’ll have the option to submit your information directly to the national environmental firm. From there, they will guide you through the program details and handle the reporting process. You maintain the client relationship and carry out the site visit, while the firm serves as your “back office” by finalizing and producing the Phase I ESA report.

How It Works

  •  Hold the CCPIA® Certification in Good Standing

You must hold an active CCPIA® Certified Commercial Property Inspector designation and maintain your membership in good standing to be eligible.

  • Complete the Required Training

The Phase I ESA Training for Commercial Property Inspectors is included with your CCPIA® membership. This self-paced, online course is the second required prerequisite for partnering with ETS Environmental.

  • Pass the Final Exam

Complete all course sections and a minimum score of 80% on the final exam. Upon passing, a yellow confirmation box will appear on the course page, providing access to the submission form.

  • Submit Your Information

Use the form in the yellow confirmation box to share your information directly with ETS Environmental. They’ll reach out to discuss opportunities, insurance requirements, compensation, and the specific roles of both the inspector and the firm in the process.

  • Receive Additional Resources

Once contacted, you’ll receive firm-specific training materials as part of their onboarding and inspection manuals to help you prepare for site visits and support the Environmental Professional (EP) in completing the Phase I ESA process.
