Cost to Remedy Field Training

July 9 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
$775

What to Expect

Gain hands-on experience inspecting a commercial building and drafting a cost to remedy report from your own findings. You’ll complete a cost to remedy service from start to finish, including:

  • Perform an inspection
  • Gather key information during the inspection for the cost to remedy report
  • Classify observed conditions as repair, replacement, or maintenance items
  • Determine suggested remedies for observed deficiencies
  • Use cost data sources to calculate repair and replacement costs
  • Draft a cost to remedy report

You’ll walk away with the final cost to remedy report from the event venue inspection, including immediate costs and a reserve table projecting short-, mid-, and long-term costs. Ask questions throughout the training and get answers to situations you may encounter when offering this service on your own.

This training features an event venue with two banquet halls and two commercial kitchens. You’ll inspect the interior and exterior areas, including the building envelope, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, well and septic, parking areas, fire and life safety features, and more. The focus of the mock inspection is identifying conditions for the cost to remedy report and gathering key information, such as unit or equipment specifications and measurements.

You’ll also learn how to set the service scope with the client, market and communicate this service to potential clients, and update proposals and agreements for liability protection. Altogether, this gives you the step-by-step process to expand your commercial property inspection services and start offering cost to remedy with confidence.

Register today!

Registration includes a full day of hands-on training, catered lunch, a training certificate, and take-home reference materials. Many of these are used during the training, including report templates, estimating spreadsheets, a coursebook PDF, and workflow guides.
