BOULDER, Colo. (April 2, 2026) — The Certified Commercial Property Inspectors Association (CCPIA®) has partnered with OREP Insurance Services to provide an expanded insurance solution designed specifically for commercial property inspections.
This partnership introduces a commercial property inspector E&O and General Liability policy that aligns with the actual scope of work performed by commercial property inspectors. The policy removes common limitations found in currently available coverages, including restrictions on building size, property type, service scope, and more.
Through this program, CCPIA® members can access coverage for a wide range of commercial property types, including restaurants, warehouses, hotels, schools, medical facilities, and mixed-use buildings, without square footage limitations. Many currently available policies include a 100,000-square-foot limit.
The policy is structured to support inspectors at all stages, from those beginning to take on commercial work to firms operating exclusively in the commercial space. Most inspectors currently add commercial work through limited endorsements. This policy provides residential and broad commercial property inspection coverage in a single policy, with expanded coverage beyond typical baseline limitations.
The program includes combined E&O and General Liability coverage, along with features such as defense coverage for excluded system claims (i.e., Phase I ESA services, cost to remedy services, repair and replacement cost estimates, and fire and life safety systems), pre-claims assistance, and tools to support business operations. It is designed to reduce uncertainty around coverage and allow inspectors to take on commercial work with greater protection and confidence. Updated inspection agreements will be released soon for CCPIA® members and those using this policy.
OREP will join CCPIA’s monthly virtual roundtable for a live review and Q&A on this policy. The meeting is free and open to all, with no membership required. It will take place on May 12, from 9:00-10:00 AM MST on Zoom. Pre-registration is required. Learn more on the Training and Events Calendar.
This partnership reflects CCPIA’s continued focus on supporting inspectors beyond training and certification, by aligning education, standards, and business resources with the realities of the commercial property inspection industry.
