CCPIA News - Certified Commercial Property Inspectors Association

BOULDER, Colo. (Jan. 21, 2026) — The Certified Commercial Property Inspectors Association (CCPIA®) announced today that the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI®) has formally discontinued their commercial property inspection certification and is now referring inspectors seeking commercial training and credentials to CCPIA®.

Nick Gromicko, Founder of InterNACHI® stated, “We recognize that CCPIA® is now the lone trade association in the commercial property inspection space. Referring interested parties to CCPIA® ensures that inspectors and stakeholders have access to an organization fully dedicated to that field.” See InterNACHI’s announcement.

This announcement follows InterNACHI’s decision last year to formally adopt CCPIA’s International Standards of Practice for Inspecting Commercial Properties (ComSOP), replacing its own commercial standards. CCPIA® is releasing the revised 2026 ComSOP later in the coming weeks. The ComSOP is available for free public access at all times online.
