BOULDER, CO (Nov. 19, 2025) — The Certified Commercial Property Inspectors Association® (CCPIA®) has introduced a new wireless headset communication system for its hands-on training classes and field-based training held nationwide. The addition is designed to improve student learning experience and engagement during in-person commercial property inspection classes.
The headsets allow instructors to remain fully mobile, like a real-world inspection, while delivering clear instruction. Students can hear detailed explanations while cycling through equipment rooms, mechanical spaces, rooftops, and other high-noise environments where traditional instruction is harder to follow.

“Field training often takes place around running equipment, HVAC units, active building systems, and in equipment rooms where only a few students can enter at a time,” said Rob Claus, CCPIA® Instructor, who introduced the idea of incorporating headsets. “The headsets ensure that every student, no matter where they’re positioned, can clearly hear the inspection process, safety guidance, and system explanations without missing anything.”
Early feedback from students and instructors has been overwhelmingly positive. The headset system supports:
- Improved audio clarity in loud mechanical rooms and outdoor spaces
- Enhanced overall learning experience, with more efficient instruction as groups move through large buildings
- Better student engagement during inspections of equipment rooms, rooftops, and operational systems
- Safer walkthroughs, allowing students to focus on their surroundings without missing instructor guidance
The integration of headsets aligns with CCPIA’s commitment to delivering high-quality, practical education that prepares inspectors to confidently assess commercial buildings and navigate real inspection environments.
CCPIA® will continue expanding its hands-on and field-based training opportunities nationwide, with new tools and teaching methods that support diverse learning styles and real-property insight.
