Commercial Property Inspection Walk-Through Online Course

This inspection training course takes you on a virtual ride-along of two inspections and includes a sample report for each. You’ll follow a commercial property inspector through a mixed-use warehouse and an office building, learning system-specific inspection procedures for roofs, exteriors, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, interiors, and life safety features. Along the way, you’ll build a practical understanding of common building systems, how they operate, what to look for in the field, and what to document in the report.

You’ll also become familiar with reporting fundamentals, from field documentation through the report writing process. Suggested report details, including descriptions and photo documentation, are provided for each system to help you stay organized, work efficiently, and complete the inspection in alignment with the baseline ComSOP scope.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

• Follow the ComSOP to perform thorough inspections on different types of commercial properties.
• Follow and implement inspection procedures for various building systems and areas, including the roof, exterior, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, interior, and life safety.
• Use the preliminary walk-through survey to effectively prepare for and efficiently complete the inspection.
• Provide clients with thorough reports that document inventories and visible conditions.
• Recognize and address common issues specific to warehouses and office suites.
